This new regulation, which concerns the use of devices that emit non-ionizing radiation or sound for cosmetic purposes, is the talk of the town. However, while it is on everyone’s lips, many practitioners do not yet seem to fully understand the implications of this law and what it means for the future of their profession. If you practice aesthetic medicine, it is critical that you know the details of the V-NISSG law and understand what changes it will bring to your daily practice. In this blog post, we’ll answer your questions and clear up any confusion by providing clear and detailed information about the V-NISSG Act, its impact on aesthetic treatments, and how you can prepare to comply with the new regulations. Look no further, we have the answers to your questions right here.

What is the V-NISSG law?

The V-NISSG, which stands for „Swiss Federal Law on Protection against Non-Ionizing Radiation and Sound,“ was passed to regulate the use of devices emitting non-ionizing radiation for cosmetic purposes. In fact, aesthetic machines that emit non-ionizing radiation have become very popular in recent years. However, most of them exceed safety limits for skin, eyes and other tissues, so they are very likely to cause acute damage if not handled properly. The long-term effects of their use are still not fully understood. With the aim of addressing this issue, the Swiss parliament passed the federal ISDNG law.

Which data processing operations are affected by the NISSG law?

The new regulations cover the use of medical devices and low-voltage products. From June 1, 2024, twelve treatments using devices that emit non-ionizing radiation or sound may only be carried out if they are accompanied by a certificate of competence that relates to the treatment in question :

Acne

Cellulite and dimples

Rosacea, benign vascular lesions and non-neoplastic nevi smaller than 3 mm (except near the eyes)

wrinkles

scars

Onychomycosis

Postinfalmation hyperpigmentation

Stripes

Hair removal with laser

Removal of permanent make-up(except near the eyes)

Removal of non-ablative laser tattoos(except near the eyes)

Laser acupuncture

Permanent Make-up und Tätowierungen 5.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

In the world of aesthetics, there is currently a topic that is making headlines among experts: the O-LRNIS Act.

[22

post-29757","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized-en
["GET
